Sharper Than Any Two-Edged Sword
Its only fitting that since our site is named Sharper Than Any Two-Edged Sword that we have a study on that subject. Lets take a look at the scriptures as they reveal and manifest His word in us and through us.
Hebrews 4:12
For the Word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, peircing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The "Word of God" , aka "The Bible" aka "The Sword of The Spirit"
Its living , alive , full of energy and Life everlasting.
When you go to the library to look for a book to read. Your looking for pages that will come alive to you as though you were there in the story your reading , bringing it to life. For those who pray and seek God before even opening the pages of the Bible it becomes the same way. If you don't ask God to open the scriptures to your heart and mind, you may feel like your reading another language and may not understand what is being told in the story, or in what God has to say to your heart. First we must ask God into our hearts asking Jesus to forgive our sins washing us with His precious blood and cleansing us . Once we have done that step, then comes water baptisim were we are baptized in the name of The Father , The Son , and The Holy Spirit. Its a public confession that we aim to live our lives for God in truth and love. But now comes the long life lessons that we live every day. Study of the Word of God to begin a deeper cleansing and renewing of our hearts and minds.
2 Corinthains 4:1-6 ,16-18
1/ Therefore, since we have the ministry, as we have recieved mercy, we do not lose heart. 2/ But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the Word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. 3/ But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, 4/ whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them. 5/ For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus's sake. 6/ For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness who has shone in our hearts to give light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
16/ Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17/ For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 18/ while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
A pastor awhile back now gone to be with the Lord, once helped me understand that even though we go through things in this life they may seem forever and that it will not end. But the truth is they do end and they are temporary and life goes on. But when we are being renewed in God daily those things in our hearts and minds that God reveals to us are eternal. His love is eternal , His grace is eternal. His mercy is eternal. All this He works in us and through us.
Ephesians 4:17-24
17/ This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, 18/ having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their heart; 19/ who , being past feeling, have given themselves over to licentiousness, to work uncleanness with greediness. 20/ But you have not so learned Christ, 21/ if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22/ that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lust, 23/ and be renewed in the spirit of your mind. 24/ and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in righteousness and true holiness.
Do you see how it works. From one form manifestated into a new man. In church this morning , the pastor talked of the manifestation of Christ from a child right to the cross. He was really focused on the word manifestation. How Christ came as a new born child, leaving the Father's Heavenly place to manifest Himself as a blood and flesh only to once again manifest the Cross. Putting on every man women and child then and now and to come sins and barring them on that cross as He died there for three days Then again manifested Himself in the resurection to show us the life everafter. Praise God. In the same way Studying the Word of God will manifest a new life in our hearts and minds all the old ways of thinking become as nonsence and garbage to us and we begin to manifest the new created life in Christ Jesus. Showing and shineing the love of Christ and His mercy and grace to all mankind. One more from Romans then we will go on with Hebrews 4:12.
Romans 12:1,2
1/ I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy , acceptable to God, which is your reasonalble service. 2/ And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Let me say this not one of us have fully come to this. It is not easy with this flesh to ever be holy , or acceptable to God. But our body in spirit and mind can be with the renewing of our minds and hearts. The flesh is full of sin and full of filthy rags and Our Father can not look at sin. But by the Grace and Mercy of The Cross of Christ Jesus, His body broken and His blood poured out. We are made clean daily and it is the only way it can be done. We could never in ourselves be holy, or a living sacrifice or even acceptable to God without Jesus our Lord and the Cross. Only He can be the one who cleanses us and helps us to renew our hearts and minds. Only His blood can take away the thoughts and intents that are corrupt . There is always a two letter word in the Bible , that word is "IF"
ie. If we believe, If we are willing, If we take up our cross and follow Him, If, If , If, always watch for that word, Its important to your understanding. God will not force Himself on us. We must Choose !!!

Have you ever been cut by a sharp edge , a nife while doing dishes, or a blade of grass, I have in both cases, it hurts and stings . One year when I was young while I was feeding the pigs, was picking this certain weed that the pigs loved like it was their chocolate. The stem on this weed if picked wrong can cut right threw your bone. I did this to one of my fingers and the scar is still there today. The guts of my finger poured out and it was very painful. It is like this when God works in our hearts and minds sometimes , it is very painful and we are being poured out , crying in suffering , sometimes in a state of depression. crying out to God and seeking His grace. But God is doing a work in us. Because there are some things we are not willing to let go. And until we do we will go through the trials of that particular thing. Like a child takeing a tempertampron. We say no to God, wanting it our own way. But if we Love our Father we know He Knows what is best for us. We must be willing to give in and do His will in our lives. Our Father Knows our intentions , He Knows our excuses, He knows our hearts. Our we willing to let Go and Let God? !!!
It all boils down to a choice each and everyone one of us must make , Its either God or no God. Your Choice. I choose God. Here is one more scripture I would like to share .
2 Timothy 3: 16,17
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Without the scriptures being our Sword of life, being written on our hearts and minds, we would be lost and confused. Even if someone dosent' have the Bible to read. If that person makes a consious choice to recieve Jesus as their personal Savior. Ask Him in for cleansing of his/her sins. The Father is able to write the scriptures on his/her heart , How else do you think Moses new the old Testament. The Father told him. Maybe some day you will come accross a person who knows the scriptures yet has never read a bible. I bet you , The Father told him/her. He wrote it in their heart and their mind. Just an added thought. For those of us who have the luxery and privilage of reading the scriptures let us do so with diligence and seek first the Kingdom of God. For "The Kingdom of God is within you". Those are the Words of Jesus Himself.
